WHO WE ARE
ABOUT US
"THE CHURCH THAT LOVES PEOPLE"
Our Story
- Elder Arthur Tiggs
- Elder T.J. Kinlow
- Elder F. E. Reed
However on June 6, 1970 Jurisdictional Bishop L.T. Walker appointed Elder Joe Louis Stocker as pastor of the South Main Church of God in Christ at which time the name was changed to Main Street Church of God in Christ. Under Pastor Stocker’s leadership the church grew spiritually and the membership increase exponentially. The physical structure was completely renovated – including the expansion of the sanctuary, restrooms, the installation of the baptistery, and the addition of a five-classroom educational wing, offices, nursery and a dining facility.
We are "The Church that Loves People" and together we are GROWING Forward.
After 47 years of faithful service to the Main Street Church and 20+ years as Superintendent of Pine Bluff District #1, Superintendent went on to be with the Lord in November 2017.
After several months without a resident pastor, in February of 2018 Jurisdictional Bishop Jewel R. Withers Jr. appointed Elder Brandon R. Clay Servant Leader of the Main Street Church. Main Street is indeed a blessed church with a rich history, a bright future, and a monumental assignment to reach the lost and hurting of the city Pine Bluff and surrounding areas with the love of Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
